  1. Introduction of GSM/GPRS SIM900A Easy

SIMCOM introduced Sim900A module is a GSM/GPRS ultra-compact, designed for the global market. The Sim900A operates in the 900MHz EGSM 900MHz band, 1800MHz DCS as a terminal with a powerful single-core processor, enhancing important features based on the ARM926EJ-S processor, for You benefit from the compact size (24 x 24 x 3 mm), which meets the space requirements of M2M applications.

GSM/GPRS SIM900A Easy is a product developed by AT-COM based on the features of SIM900A module. GSM/GPRS SIM900A Easy is designed with built-in soles SIMCard, GSM built-in PIFA Antenna, earphone jack, enabling users to easily research and deploy GSM/GPRS related applications such as: Besides, the compact size, handy data output, GSM/GPRS SIM900A Easy will bring to the inspiration of modern and sophisticated design.

   3. Features of  GSM/GPRS SIM900A Easy

The product is integrated ATCBus Socket with pins in the order that allows users to connect to products that support ATCBus easily. All in one ATCBus

Power supply for GSM/GPRS SIM900A Easy is 5VDC. On the circuit is integrated MCP1826-ADJE/DC power IC supply 4V voltage for SIM900A module ensures the module operating at the optimal voltage level.

The circuit is designed with a transistor turns on/off SIM900A module. It is possible to power on/off SIM900A in two Methods:

Method 1: Use the On / Off button on the circuit.

Method 2: Provide a high-level pulse to the PWR pins of the ATCBus Socket, the SIM900A module will be powered on. When the PWR pin is triggered, the LED Status on the circuit will light up, a few seconds after the NetLight LED will blink and the SIM900A module starts scanning the network, checking SIMCARD ...

Led Status shows the Power on the status of SIM900A.

Led Netlight displays the status of the existing SIM900A network.

A design breakthrough that AT-COM inserted into products that are the GSM Built-in PCB PIFA Antenna of Jinchang, which is directly welded to the PCB for aesthetics and compact size for the product. Especially, the antennas provide excellent GSM tuning capabilities to improve call quality as well as other applications of the product.

The circuit communicates with the microcontroller via the UART pins on the ATCBus Socket, which supports communication for both 3.3V and 5V microcontrollers. Choosing the voltage level to communicate with the microcontroller by selecting the I/O Level on the circuit. The user selects I/O Level by welding 0-ohm resistor to 3V3 or 5V position at 5V (by default, 0 Ohm resistor is welded at 5V position).

Baudrate on the pins of the default UART interface when the production of GSM/GPRS SIM900A Easy is 9600bps.

When choosing to communicate with the 3.3V microcontroller, the user must supply 3.3VDC power to the 3V3 pin on the circuit as shown below:

The built-in audio jack is a quadrupole earphone that supports most of the phones available on the market, making it easy for users to experience voice applications through the GSM/GPRS SIM900A Easy

Users can connect GSM/GPRS SIM900A Easy with Easy Board products that support ATCBus Socket to experience the "Plug and Play" feature provided by the Easy Board series.
